Katie Holmes will be cooking her first ever Thanksgiving turkey as she takes over family holiday
She is the youngest of five children.
But this year Katie Holmes is taking charge of the cooking and hosting when it comes to America’s most important family holiday.
The 35-year-old revealed on Monday’s episode of Late Night With David Letterman that she will be making her first ever Thanksgiving turkey – using her mother’s recipe, of course.
Speaking on the show, the mother-of-one revealed how she is gearing up to host her first ever Thanksgiving dinner and how she will prepare the turkey herself.
‘I’m very excited because I’m the baby of five, and I’ve been using that for a long time but this year I’m taking responsibility and my mother’s going to teach me how to make a turkey,’ she explained. ‘I am going to pull the gizzards out.’

Letterman then peppered her with questions, appearing to test her knowledge: ‘Turkey is easy, you’re going to roast it right?’
Well I don’t know, is that what you do?’ she replied innocently.
‘A lot of people boil it in hot oil,’ Letterman explained. ‘I wouldn’t recommend that.’
‘Deep fried is so good,’ Holmes shot back.
For the interview, the actress looked sensational as she showcased her lean and slender frame in a dramatic metallic mini-dress, which was clinched at the waist with a black thin-strap belt.
The silver number highlighted the brunette stunner’s hourglass figurine in all its glory and put her cleavage on full display thanks to the low-cut neckline.
Standing tall in a classic pair of black court heels, Katie added a touch of glamour to the proceedings with a delicate gold wrist bangle.
She wore her luscious locks tousled into a high ponytail, while accentuating her pretty facial features with heavily lined eyes, a touch of powder pink blusher and a few swipes of nude lipstick.
