Boccanera Gallery inaugura nei suoi ampi spazi industriali a Trento la prima mostra personale di Federico Seppi (Trento, 1990).

La mostra intitolata Icebreaker<\/em>, curata da Giovanna Nicoletti e progettata appositamente per le dimensioni dello spazio espositivo, usa come filo conduttore il tema del ghiacciaio. Il ghiacciaio \u00e8 esso stesso metafora dell\u2019esistenza e della sua metamorfosi. E\u2019 un elemento di stupore per la sua grandezza, la sua luce, il suo colore, ma nello stesso tempo mostra oggi la sua fragilit\u00e0, vittima di una crisi climatica volta alla sua estinzione. Il tema dell\u2019ambiente e del clima \u00e8, infatti, uno degli obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile dettati dall\u2019Agenda 2030 definiti dall\u2019ONU come strategia \u2018per un futuro migliore e pi\u00f9 sostenibile per tutti\u2019.

Il ghiacciaio rappresenta la potenza della natura, di quella natura capace di trasformare gli elementi, dalla roccia alla vegetazione. E\u2019 allo stesso tempo luogo di avventura e di scoperta conservando e custodendo dentro di s\u00e9 la memoria degli eventi e degli esseri che lo hanno attraversato.

Nello spazio espositivo, i ghiacciai si rivelano nelle tavole di grandi dimensioni, realizzate per la mostra, raccontando di simulacri fisici di una natura pronta a mostrarsi per subito scomparire assorbita dalla luce davanti ai nostri occhi. Sono tavole sulle quali la foglia d\u2019argento, una volta graffiata, incisa e levata dall\u2019artista, mostra strato dopo strato la spigolosit\u00e0 della roccia sottostante. Le immagini dei ghiacciai Stelvio, Due Forni, Marmolada e Adamello<\/em> occupano le pareti come muri astratti, alludendo ad effetti atmosferici estranianti.

Le sculture dedicate al movimento del ghiaccio spezzato, alla goccia che cade, portano con s\u00e8 la \u2018pelle\u2019 degli elementi della montagna. Il legno nelle sue fibre traccia la mappa della terra, una trama sottile che sembra erodere la superficie dando origine ad un movimento di onde concentriche (Minimi segni<\/em>), un movimento continuo capace di trasformare la materia da solida a liquida e viceversa (Frozen river<\/em>).

Sulle carte, raccolte nel prezioso libro d\u2019artista Hertz, Federico Seppi descrive la trasformazione degli elementi attraverso il movimento per vibrazione delle polveri quasi a registrare allo stesso tempo il respiro dell\u2019universo e il momento del suo apparire.

Le opere sono circa una ventina.
La mostra \u00e8 corredata da un catalogo con testi di Chiara Casarin e Giovanna Nicoletti in italiano e inglese.<\/p>\r\n

Boccanera Gallery inaugurates the first solo exhibition of Federico Seppi (Trento, 1990) in its large industrial space in Trento.<\/p>\r\n

The exhibition titled Icebreaker<\/em>, curated by Giovanna Nicoletti and designed specifically for the dimensions of the gallery, uses the theme of the glacier as a guiding thread. The glacier itself is a metaphor for existence and its metamorphosis. Its size, its light, its colour amaze us but at the same time nowadays we see its fragility, a victim of a climate crisis leading to its extinction.\u00a0The theme of the environment and climate is, of course, one of the sustainable development goals set by the 2030 Agenda defined by the UN as a strategy ‘for a better and more sustainable future for all’.<\/p>\r\n

A glacier represents the power of nature capable of transforming fundamental elements from rock to vegetation. At the same time, it is a place of adventure and discovery, preserving and guarding within itself the memory of events and beings who have passed through it.

In the gallery spaces, glaciers are revealed in large pieces created for the exhibition describing physical simulacra of nature ready to show themselves and immediately disappear absorbed by light before our eyes. These are works on which silver leaf, once scratched, engraved and removed by the artist, show layer by layer the angularity of the underlying rock. The images of the Stelvio, Due Forni, Marmolada and Adamello<\/em> glaciers occupy the space like abstract walls alluding to alienating atmospheric effects.

Sculptures dedicated to the movement of broken ice, to the falling drop, carry with them the ‘skin’ of mountain elements. The grain of natural wood traces map contours of the earth, a thin texture that seems to erode the surface giving rise to a movement of concentric waves (Minimi segni<\/em>) or a continuous movement capable of transforming the material from solid to liquid and vice versa (Frozen river<\/em>).

Federico Seppi\u2019s works on paper collected in the artist’s precious book\u00a0Hertz, describe the transformation of elements through movement, by vibration of dust, as if to record the time of their appearance together with the breath of the universe.<\/p>\r\n

The exhibition brings together twenty pieces. A catalogue will be published for the occasion with Italian and English texts by Chiara Casarin and Giovanna Nicoletti.<\/p>\r\n
