Val di Sole ready to host the 2010 UCI World Cup<\/p>\n
XC, Downhill and 4X series will be ‘on track’ on July 31st and August 1st <\/p>\n

Last Sunday the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup kicked off in Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire. The reigning World Champions Irina Kalentieva from Russia and Nino Schurter from Switzerland won the first round of the XC series and became the new 2010 World Cup leaders. <\/p>\n
On Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August, the MTB UCI World Cup will head to Val di Sole, in the Italian Trentino region, and all the three XC, Downhill and 4X series will be ‘on track’ on the same courses that successfully hosted the 2008 UCI World Championships.<\/p>\n
On an international basis, the Italian courses have been nominated by technicians and riders as some of the best courses in the world. Some riders consider the so-called ‘Petite Roubaix’ (XC track), the ‘Snake Pit’ (Downhill track) and the ‘Camel’s Humps’ (4X track), the most challenging courses in the world. <\/p>\n
The track designers in Val di Sole have also decided to improve the courses and will slightly modify all the tracks. Italy’s national coach, Hubert Pallhuber, experienced Pippo Marani and the British specialist Philip Saxena, started to think about little changes, even though, as already said, the tracks are already first class courses.<\/p>\n
The two-day world event is organized by the same committee – lead by Luciano Rizzi – that in 2008 brought to the Italian valley the UCI World Championships. That was an outstanding success for everyone involved, and an amazing show for the public, who next July will have the chance to access the race areas for free. <\/p>\n
Along with the competitions, tourists and MTB fans will enjoy several entertaining shows, the bicycle path that runs from the village of Mostizzolo up to Cogolo, and the Expo Area located beside the courses where all the cycling news from around the world will be available.<\/p>\n
The OC will also offer the opportunity to leave cars at home and reach the races area by train, also carrying your own bike. In fact you may travel from Malè to Mezzana free of charge and enjoy a fantastic World Cup event in Val di Sole.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
